Stupid mistake.. Don't smoke weed and work on your car

Eh, pot isn't an excuse for stupidity. I'm a big pot advocate, and generally haven't had issues wrenching under the influence. It's not for everyone, and if you can't do things correctly while high, then don't even bother before you hurt yourself.

Back to basics..... If it doesn't turn over, there is more going on that a fried diode in the alternator or a bad voltage regulator.

What works?

What is the voltage on the battery?

Any dash lights?

Which switches work when you turn things on or off?

Pull each fuse and start checking circuits...

Totally agree. I see some hypocrisy here, as I'm sure a lot of people that have replied have had a few cocktails while wrenching which can result in worse results than a hit or two.

I love great beer or a good cocktail or three, but I don't ever drink and work on cars at the same time. Not socially. Not ever.

Well.....for the record....I drink beer and wine, and work on the car....just not in quantities that would have me saying to myself "WTF was a doing!?" the next day.

Oh thank God. I thought I was the only one.

I keep the beer in the garage........that's my excuse (assuming I need one).

Thanks for all the opinions

I'm definitely not blaming the ganja. it was a stupid mistake I really should've double checked. After coming back from a 1month vacation and being stoned my mind was elsewhere haha.

anyway, I still get lights on my dashboard and My fuses are still good. Going to be checking all the circuits this week and get my alternator, voltage regulator, and starter tested. (yes I'll probably smoke a joint b4) I'll let you guys know what happens ;)

I'm curious to know what got fried.  No, I'm not being funny.  I mean alt, reg, starter, not brains.

I once was distracted by a Megan Fox look-alike and crossed my cables during a jump start.

Smoke and sparks, but no damage.  I'm wondering what was smoking.  Again no doobie reference.
