body and interior Early Guages

I have seen a lot of gauges for the early 02's but never see them with the clock? Was this a buyer option?

I might be wrong, but I think it was standard on 1600s.

Standard equipment on the BMW 1600 Voll Cabriolet.  I believe the Tach was an option you could order on the Cab.  Mine originally came with the clock, but I swapped it out for a silver dollar Tach.

I believe such clocks were standard-ish on the automatic transmission cars. -KB

stock on all 1600-2 and had the silver face around the 3 dials - only the Ti got the rev counter and a black face (and the 1602/1802/1502 also got a later style clock instead on a rev counter)

In the US all 1600s came with clocks. The 2002s all came with tachs but if you look at the invoices you will see that Hoffman Motors added the tack and sway bars to all 2002s as a mandatory option and charged extra for them. Most 2002 automatics I saw delivered new had clocks but I have talked to a few original owners that said their car came with a tach so I guess it is hit and miss on the Autos.
