Very nice! But from what I see in the pics, it looks like an earlier car or else backdated to look like one:

No knee trim

Shorty rear bumper

Early type front bumper

Silver dollar cluster

Round shift boot (missing console)

Also has 73 only narrow headlight grills.

You get extra points for having a "clean bottom"! So many cars for sale are disgusting when the road side is revealed.

I have always liked the look of the earlier cars with short bumpers, no lower trim.   I also like the simple clean look of no console and round shift boot as well as silver dollar cluster.  Maybe I should have just bought a 69

And cleanliness is next to.... Oh never mind  thats what a brush and lying on your back can accomplish.

Not sure what you mean by narrow grills though?  Speaking of grills I hope my car doesn't get grilled by the FAQ in customary fashion.  Its OK I can take it.  Wait, no I cant.

The headlight "door" or surround, from the inception of the 1600-2 in 1966 until well into the 1972 model year -- I'm talking U.S. model year -- was quite deep and the sealed beam on U.S. cars was fully recessed within the door. But sometime in the latter half of the 1972 model year -- Mike S. knows the VIN cut-offs for the various sub-models -- and through the end of the 1973 model year, BMW began to make this door at least an inch shallower, resulting in a more "bugeye" appearance: the sealed beam stands out proud of the door at the lower outer edge. (Jim, the cut-off pre-dates September 1972, thus capturing late 1972 models.) Below are a "deep grille" and a "shallow grille".

Very nice car, saw it at bimmerfest. Love the attention to detail, and except for the bottle caps (not my style) one of my favorites.

This car is very well executed. I also prefer the early 02s amongst all 02 styles. But each iteration does have it's perks.

Car sold today to a nice couple where it will be lovingly garaged next to a 911 Porsche.  I wonder what stories they will share?
