This looks like the one that was listed on Santa Cruz CL. If it is the same one look out for rust!

Hard to believe this is already over $7,500 with 20 bids. Both rear shot towers are gone, spare tire, floor boards, windows and roof are rusted. Ebay description and pics make this look decent BUT look at his Picassa album he posted in the Q&A: https://picasaweb.google.com/116946797322409050180/1969BMW20024SpeedAugust212015 the pics tell the truth.

I was the first to go look at this car when it was on Craigslist 3+ weeks ago. A really nice older gentleman and his daughter were selling it to fund her move to New York. I ended up buying the original blaupunkt radio off of him but passed on the car. It's has alot of rust like the first post states. Roof, windows, spare tire well, wheel arches etc etc. Also the lower end of the motor was making a godawful noise when throttle was on. When running if you pulled the dipstick out it made contact with something in the motor and would vibrate profusely and make a ticking/grinding noise. A week or so after I looked at the car the daughter texted me back asking if I wanted the car for 3,000 I still passed on it. Wish there was a way to warn the folks on eBay!

Yeah, i really wanted to buy this car for my girlfriend. Unfortunately, with all the work this car required to me it wasn't worth 3,000 dollars. Had I no moral fiber it would have been an excellent "flip". Except I pride myself on being honest. I guess even cockroaches have to put dinner on the table though... Edited by Coastalcrush408

It's back up on Ebay. I'm posting to help WARN anyone that might consider buying this sight unseen.

+1

Imagine that: the first sale (at nearly $8K) fell through. Never saw that coming!
