Locking gas cap with spring-loaded keyhole cover?   I have seen plenty of locking caps but not this one.   Sorry for the lorez picture.

Yeah! That's the one.

I wouldn't say a word, and the secret would remain between you and Stan!

I get heaps of comments on the wind deflector.  "Is that original?"  I want to say yes, but feel better telling Stan's story of reverse engineering.

Steve...did you notice that your tii is 201 vehicles older than mine.

I did, Paul. And when 2762757 sheds its post-factory Malaga, it will look a whole lot like yours, I hope! And Delia owned an Inka tii that immediately preceded 2762757 down the assembly line!

Best regards,

Steve

Another valve cover. Wish I could find (and afford) some of this old H&B stuff. Wheels, horn buttons, shift knobs...

Where do you guys find these rare valve covers for sale? They seem really cool. Do they just pop up on here sometimes?

I rarely see them pop up for sale. When they do it's usually on German eBay. I think I've seen a Motor Nord or H&B valve cover come up for sale here. Memory is hazy.

I had a Golde wind deflector that I didn't install on my previous tii.  My current tii doesn't have a sunroof so I put the Golde deflector on the FAQ parts forum a few years ago and sold it for $300.  It sold in a few hours after posting the ad and I had multiple offers. My tii has the Hirshman red tip antenna on it which I picked that up at a automotive flea market (Veterama) https://www.veterama.de/en/home  along with a crack free one piece Euro spec 02 dash (no fasten seat belt billboard) in Ludwigshafen Germany in 2004. The dash was mailed back and is now in my tii.   I also have the green fog lamp switch that I pulled out of a 02 from the Templehof air base auto hobby shop junkyard in Berlin from about 25 years ago. It's been in several of my 02's but I always take that switch with me when I move on to another 02.

Black "City Light" button... never seen that before!  Very cool.

That would go well with MoBrighter's new headlight kit with city lights.... just sayin'...
