Still looking for an automatic 1975 emission sticker to complete my project, stay tuned...

Thanks for all the contributions so far...

Mark,

We have a 75 auto here at the shop.  Will get to it in the back of the lot and post a photo.

Best regards,

Mark,

Are you able to post photos of the six versions of the emissions schematic here? My "six versions" ignores tiny differences such as 121.8 vs. 121.9 on the header line. Do I have it right:

'74 - 1 total: 1 version fits all

'75 - 2 total: 1 version for manuals, 1 version for automatics

'76 - 3 total: 1 version for CA manuals, 1 version for CA automatics, 1 version for 49-state manuals OR automatics

No WONDER no one reproduces these stickers: the market is fragmented!

Regards,

Steve

Thanks.

And that's a placement of the "Non-Catalyst sticker" I haven't seen previously. I'm accustomed to seeing them on the rear edge of the driver's (left) door, adjacent to the paper VIN sticker. And that brings me to another question: is the Non-Catalyst sticker solely a '76 thing? If not, when does it first appear?

Steve

Here are the six stickers...

1976 49-State Manual/Automatic Version

1976 Manual Version

1976 Automatic Version

1975 Manual Version

1975 Automatic Version

1974 Manual/Automatic Version

The only difference I could see between the 1975 and 1976 versions (excluding the 76 49 State Version) is the ribs on the valve cover are removed and the 75's don't have the retard port on the distributor vacuum advance mechanism.

Thanks for everyone's help on this project.  Stay tuned...

Steve:

It appears that the "Non-Catalyst" sticker is a 1976 thing with placement on the door (76 manual or 76 Automatic cars) and placement under the emission diagram sticker on 76 49-State cars.  I suspect that placement of the "Non-Catalyst" sticker was probably at the discretion of the person placing the stickers (factory or dealer) which might explain variations.  I don't have a 1975 "Non-Catalyst" sticker on my original paint 1975 BMW 2002.

+1

Amen. Installed at factory, albeit, as you suggest, with some discretion permitted (or was it simply a lack of quality control?). Catlin Customs and my '76 are both 49-state cars: his appears to have been, from the beginning, on the inner fender; mine has been, from the beginning, on the rear door edge.

Thanks again for doing this project, Mark.

Best regards,

Steve
