WTB empty black instrument cluster

That fugly wood trim can be removed or painted. There are a few threads about gauge cluster mods. Don't like to say it but search is your friend.

Hey Andrew, thanks for your comments. I have searched a lot and looked into it, and have even bought a spare "wood" trim panel to paint black - so as to preserve my stock unit in case I ever want to saw it back, but I have decided that I like the look of the early black cluster better. Its just my opinion, but I think it is a much cleaner look hence the WTB ad for a black empty cluster! And I am planing on taking out the whole cluster to refresh anyways so just figured it would be the perfect time to swap them out. 

 

So... still looking! John

I did a swap like this in the past, but I used the 76 housing and modified the rings retaining clips from a 72. There was some light modding required but it wasn't too difficult.  Here is a pic of the finished product.
