engine and drivetrain Where to purchase BMW 1600 Engine Bay stickers?

Hi guys,

 

 

I did a quick search but was unable to locate an exact match for these under-hood stickers for the 69 BMW 1600. My painter is asking if he can remove them for a quick engine-bay respray. I have to give him an answer by tomorrow so I'm reaching out for your help.

 

 

Do you know where I can purchase these exact copies? Photos attached.

I think Rogers Tii has most of them. I didn't closely compare yours to the ones he offers, but I think they're there.

If you're looking for ready-made stickers that are quite similar, Ryan, I suspect you're going to be disappointed. The paint sticker is easy, but I've never seen reproduced versions of the combination fuse/oil sticker, 1600-2-only tire pressure, or 1600-2-only emissions. I'm not finding anything at the usual suspects: LaJolla Independent, Jaymic, Rogers tii, and BMW 2002 Club of Columbia.

This sounds like a "Custom Sticker" project.

Also, I have never seen reproductions of the early itallic style paint stickers.

Looks like I'm going to preserve the original stickers that are currently in the engine bay, as they are originals. I will replace the color-code sticker though.

If you warm the metal from underneath (with a heat gun), the stickers can usually be safely peeled off.  You may need a little help with a razor blade.  Then reapply after your repaint. Some adhesive will be required.
