I apologize for going dark on this project for 5 months, but the car has been in the hands of the painter, and we all know what that means- it gets finished when he's ready to finish it.

 

Fortunately Jim & Terry have been to this game before and allowed ample time for the painter to do his thing. We are still on track to have the car ready for either Seattle or Portland in early July for ma test run. Then it's time for the big show- Rolex races at Monterey. The car has been accepted, and will be racing in Group 4B on Sunday. Hope to see a bunch of you there!

 

Terry went to the paint shop today and here is what he found:

Terry already has the front sub frame and suspension in, along with the rear subframe and suspension.

Car has suspension, doors and some windows already! Terry and Travis have been cranking on it.

 

We hope to have it ready to test at the Portland Historics in early July.

Terry and Travis have been hard at work. Here are the latest shots of what they have accomplished as of today.

 

Car is really coming together! The seats are as close as we could find to TiSA Restall buckets at a reasonable price. The wood on the dash is vinyl, but should look pretty good once the gauges are in.

 

Engine is in and plumbing has begun. It is a 1790 cc M10 that came out of the car. We had it freshened by a local shop.

Questions

Radiator outlet on top is on the other end?

Rollcage is only half, is a full one not allowed?

Are you allowed to cut out the metal seat supports and replace them with the cross extensions?

Can you use the standard trunk and hood locks or do you have to replace them with racing hardware?

Drive train is all in and buttoned up, and the Sticker Fairy came by last night. Just a couple of period decals to dress her up. What do you think?

Thanks Jim. Terry and Travis are doing a super job with the car. Here's a couple of recent photos of the finished dash with tach, and a shot from the back of the car.

 

Now if I could just get Terry to hold his phone still while he shoots.  ;-)
