@vinntagejoe I really would love to go to Vintage, but work conflicts. I do see a lot of them for sale here and there but price sometimes is the big thing, but if I want a good car gotta shell out the good money so... yeah

Search here to get a sense of all the different 02's for sale across the country: http://makemodelsearch.com/. I look at both the 2002 and the Classic BMW categories because you get different results with each one. Don't be afraid to reach out to the members on this board for assistance in looking at cars outside your area. More than likely, they're looking at them too and would love to help you out. If for anything, out of curiosity to see what's available in their area.

 

Also suggest that you test drive as many cars locally as you can to get an idea of what you want, and more importantly, what your threshold for doing work is. As others have suggested, there is a cost vs.benefit equation that you should have an idea of how to answer to help evaluate the different options that you'll come across.
