I saw this ad and thought I would pass it along.  A 1968 BMW 1600 originally Turf, now red primer over rust.  This one needs some serious TLC, but the lite weight 1600 shell could be a good candidate for a track car.

It wasn't exactly a great color during the '02 era, but 45+ years later, it's become interesting and its one of those colors that just shout, "Very early '02"!

VIN 1563735 is confirmed by the 2002 Club of Columbia VIN decoder as a U.S.-model 1600-2 manufactured during the 1968 calendar year. Given the "1968" stamped into the riveted-on VIN tag -- which, I believe, refers to the U.S. model year, not the calendar year -- I'd bet it was manufactured in the January-July 1968 period. I have NO doubt it was a factory Turf car: perfect patina on those underhood stickers!
