WTB Front and Rear Bumper Brackets (Early Style)

Getting used front ones that are not bent out of shape is difficult, unless they are the USA '73 style with the extra support.

The Euro (pre '73 USA) ones are like $25 each new, so at least you know they will be the correct shape.

Part # 51 11 1 815 493 (left) and 51 11 1 815 494 (right)

New rears also around $25 each. Part # 51 12 5 470 060. Used rears are more likely to have kept their shape and can be easily straightened out if they have been dinged.

Thanks Les, I was looking at RogersTii and BMW for front brackets. I was told the front brackets have been out of stock for a few months from BMW by another FAQ member but maybe I should make a call to confirm.

Here is another option, easy to install and stronger than stock brackets.

Ive sold over 100 sets, may be some reviews on the FAQ?  I have pics

of front kit, but not of rear. Cost is $88 for rear, $148 for front, shipping

included. No major drilling required,AND, God forbid, you could convert

back with no sign of converting.

Use the old covers on the new bumper brackets.. way cleaner looking. Just trim them to fit at the bumper end.

I'm impressed with how well that works! If I wasn't prepping the car for repaint and filling in a bunch of holes I'd go this route.

I spent some time deciding between your conversion and Rey's. Tbh I didn't know you were still making these, it's a really nice solution and I never considered the benefits of being able to convert back if ever desired. I was sold on the BMW parts route in the end.

Steve thinks the brackets are blocked out from the US network but believes they are available through Euro vendors so he's going to give it a shot. I'll comment here if we get them! Thanks everyone, Edited by LikeStig
