What dealer originally sold your 02?

Came across this little vintage brochure so I added it to my collection. Looks like it's from '74. I will try to take pics of all the pages later.

I love ordering Parts from the Glendale BMW on Brand.  Go in instead of ordering online.  Cute women working, free Coffee Bean cappuccino, free massage chairs, all the parts you want.

Great experience every time. :)

Found out who dealer was just after I bought my 2002 as its 3rd owner. I even spoke to someone working for the current Niello BMW in Sacramento who claimed to be the previous owner of "HANS Auto Service" who sold his dealership to Niello. fcb9533034e56c0a64a4caaf97033c15.jpg

Purchased from Leonard Motors, NJ.

I'm the 2nd owner.  The first owner was religious about taking care of the car and gave me all the receipts including the original window sticker (top half pic attached).  Apparently BMW did not print the color on the sticker so "Colorado" was hand written up top.

TR,

I don't know whether the lack of the car's body color on window stickers was healed with time, or by the shift from Hoffman Motors to BMW NA as the sole importer. I have not yet seen a Hoffman Motors sticker with exterior or interior color printed as part of the sticker -- a hand-written notation such as on your car's sticker is quite common -- whereas I have not yet seen a BMW NA sticker WITHOUT both exterior and interior color printed as part of the sticker. But I don't know for certain if this change came in early '75 -- BMW NA's inception as importer -- or earlier.

Regards,

Steve

Well, THAT'S pretty interesting. Pre-delivery check on 9/26/1972, at 9 miles, and the 600-mile check on 10/26/1975, at 774 miles! 250 miles a year for the first 3 years. Not your average '02.

Thanks and regards,

Steve

Edit: It was German Auto (not Motors) in Birmingham Alabama. Currently the home of Superior Independent Toyota and Lexus.

2002 #2577807 went back and forth and all over the US until settling in the Bay area for almost 30 years. I bought it from my high school friend in 2003 and it's been in So Cal ever since.

This is SUCH an interesting service booklet, not only because it is quite rare to see the booklets actually completed through the 64,000-mile service, but because the owner was assiduous in getting the car serviced -- no matter where the car was -- and the book stamped. The car covered 65,000 miles in its first three years and the service stamps come from 6 different shops:

5 from German Auto in Birmingham, AL

1 from Laux Motors(?) in Sylvania, OH

2 from H & E German Car Sales in Palo Alto, CA

1 from Valley Imports in Neenah, WI

5 from Hans Imported Car Service in Palo Alto, CA (one not stamped, but having the same initials as the other four)

2 from Parkside Garage in San Fransisco, CA.

I'm betting the service stamps continue after the 64,000-mile service!

Regards,

Steve
