Hey there everyone.

It's a sad day.

Going though a divorce and I don't have the time to finish my baby.

Firstly, the bad:

Salvage title. Previous owner hit something up front and the front clip was replaced with one from a regular 02.

poor paint job. originally polaris silver, was bondo'd and resprayed white.

it's very much in pieces. complete project. The head cracked last year and i pulled the engine out, got a new head, took the engine to a shop, kiss honed the cylinders, 3 angle valve job, 292 cam, HD rockers, rocker locks, dual valve springs, new stainless valves, the Ireland Engineering treatment. crank polish and balanced rotating assembly. over 2500 into the engine alone. unfortunately i have not assembled anything yet.

some rust. the worst is the driver's floor pan, (got a new floor pan from Walloth & Nesch), a little on the front clip, a little on the fenders, a little in the spare tire well. rusty trunk lid, rusty hood. some light surface rust in places under the car. the car really needs some time put into the body to get it in shape so the rust doesn't take over. not any rust in any wheel well or shock tower. obviously ive been driving the car around for years with all the rust and its not a problem, but I intended to get it back into proper shape.

the good:

Suspension completely rebuilt 2 years ago. lowered, all urethane bushings front to back. new tie rods, ball joints. IE sway bars. steering box in great shape. a tiny amount of slop. this car handles like a go-cart. it was a rocket.

vented front rotors

E21 rear drums

Bilstien sport shocks,

Limited Slip differential. In perfectly good shape, i might add.

numbers matching engine.

Vin: 2763645

Recaro seats. cloth. in good shape, 8 out of 10.

OZ 14" wheels, new tires.

impeccable headliner, original, only one tiny rip.

Interior is in good shape except the dash, which is pretty cracked but ive also seen worse.

The Kugelfisher is in good shape. previous owner overhauled at some point.

5-speed transmission upgraded by previous owner.

Asking 5000 As-Is. I will be slowly trying to get time to put things back together,.

before:

Rear shock towers are great. all wheel wells are in great conditon. the floor pans and drivers frame rail are the major components that need work. I already have a new drivers floor pan.

only thing missing will be the exhaust. i am keeping it for my E21. (not tii exhaust manifold anyway)

  • 2 weeks later...

Still up for sale.

Determined to be structural rust on driver's side frame rail.

This car was driven like this for 2 years until the original head cracked. It definitely deserves to be repaired properly. It deserves to be restored to it's former glory. I don't really want to put it all back together when it should be completely restored.

Dropped price to 4500.

If you have the time and a welder, or the money to put it in the shop, this can be a great deal. needs new steel on nose, (not original) floor pans, drivers frame rail, (includes new drivers side floor pan) spare tire well, fenders, trunk lid, hood. a small piece above pedal box. some bubbles under rear window probably will reveal a few hours grinding and welding work. that is ALL. it's really only a week's work for a metal shop, you could save some time if you can afford new fenders, trunk, and hood.

Then it deserves a bare metal treatment and new paint.

after that, all you have to do is assemble. Comes with lots of great parts, all the parts except exhaust included. The engine ran amazing until the head cracked. (going 55 in the slow lane when it happened) I had all the engine work done by Rob's auto machine in Hawyard, CA. He and his son have a great shop and will back up all their work. (3 angle valve job, port and polish, decked head and block, new stainless steel valves, rotating assembly balance, micropolished crank, honed liners.)

89.5mm bore. BMW tii 9.0:1 piano top pistons. 292 Shrick Cam. dual valve springs. IE rocker arm locks. Chromoly valve retainers. Heavy duty rocker arms. new rocker shafts. single row chain.

All assembled and installed: Limited slip differential. IE adjustable sway bars front and rear. E21 rear drums. tii struts with 77 E21 vented rotors. lowering springs all around. urethane bushings all around. overhauled front and rear subframes. front 5/8 degree fixed camber plates. front strut brace. new rear wheel bearings. new tie rods and ball joints. very good condition steering box, only 1/4" play at center. E21 radiator. Recaro seats, grey cloth center, black vinyl sides and back. great condition rear seat close match close and great condition interior panels, no speaker holes. classic 70's Nardi steering wheel. ruote OZ 14" wheels and new tires.

5 speed transmission, shortened driveshaft. needs new center bearing.

all engine parts included, kugelfisher, oil filter housing, rods, brackets, bolts bagged. unfortunately no tags.

obviously you need to be tii knowledgable to get into this project in the first place.

I could put it together in a month after i get my E21 engine off my motor stand but it would still just be a super fast rust bucket with a salvage title.

someone please do this car justice.

Previous owner rear ended someone, front clip installed was poor job.

I would probably never sell it If I got it running, and I wouldn't have the time or money to restore it...

all parts were ran on car for over 2 years, no problems.  slight whine in 5th.
