for Steve(Conserve):

You offered up a "bet" that I never owned a 1600 (or enjoyed having one)......

What's the "bet"?

mac.

mac,

Obviously you've owned a '66 or '67 1600-2 by your desire to get some money, goods, or services on the table. Thanks for tipping me off before I got in too deep! All good! I apologize for even thinking that. I was apparently wrong.

I just found it at odds with my own experience that someone who owned a '66 or '67 1600-2 would view the beginning of the "'02 era" as 1968. Maybe it's a matter of semantics but I couldn't imagine referring to the "'02 era" as '68-'76, ignoring the '66-'67 1600-2s (and if we ignore pre-'68 1600-2's, I suppose we need to ignore post 1600-2's unless they have a "1602" badge).

That's where I'm at! If someone asks me how many (driver) '02's I have owned, I say, without hesitation, "four." And one of those four was a '67 1600-2. But I don't mention that one was a 1600-2 unless someone asks for details. They are all '02's to me!

Regards,

Steve

Conserv,

So, ya didn't take the bait.  Drat.  If you had, some racer at Road Atlanta was going to have a "gofer" for a few hours.

Owned a '67 1600.  (not a 1602).

.......... you new kids on the block are takin' all the fun out of messin' with y'all................lol

But you clearly "out-pokered" me, mac, since it was a 1600 4-door!

Best regards,

Steve
