Like the topic says,,,, but you have to chant it like Bluto.

Anyway, I know there's an announcement in the events section but I thought it would be cool to get yet another thread going on this wonderful event.

I'm coming on Thursday towing my 2002 with my Touareg. My buddy Scott is coming down with me with his (my old) e30 318is. We will be coming from Cleveland straight down the 77.

Who else?

John

I am part of that conga line, as is Brian Ach, he whose '73 tii died on the way down last year, the car I fixed months later at my house, that turned out to have a broken injector. Brian and I have an ass-dragging pact.

I will be attending my first Vintage!  It's less than a 3 hour drive from my house to Asheville.  Bringing my wife along so Sunday morning will be spent touring the Biltmore before we drive home in the afternoon - it's a great time of there as all the spring flowers will be out.

Heading out from Pittsburgh pre-dawn Friday….if I have a running engine back in my car by then.

You better have a running engine by then!

I'm organizing a caravan from Dayton to depart Thurs morning for Ashville...

FYI there was a massive landslide on I-75 right at the KY-TN border last week, necessitating a 33 mile detour.  It may or may not be repaired by Vintage, so if you're going that way be sure and check the highway's condition.  There was a slide in the same general area a couple of years ago and it took several months to repair.

I'm planning a route taking some back roads, either from Knoxville if I-75 is repaired or heading SE further north if it's not open.  And I'm open to suggestions for a route...

Drop me an IM if you're interested in joining the caravan.

Jim, this location and time of year is a great one to attend with a spouse. A day with cars and a day at the Biltmore! For you, I imagine the biggest challenge would be the ride down. I'm pushing Kim's limit with a 3 hour drive in a vintage car - my efforts of trying to remind her of family trips of 20 hours or more in the '70s have gone on deaf ears. How soft we've become!

I thought I had my wife convinced to come this year, but I think that plan died once she realized that it involved an 8 hour drive in the 2002.  My college age son might be coming, though, so that will be a nice experience.

Harv it's super cool your car is coming down. One of my favourites. The Touareg is a towing beast. I tow a 20' enclosed trailer with my race car with mine.

I'm driving down from Toronto in my M2, well that's the plan as long as it's done.
