What tool(s) or trick do you use to remove the oil filter on your Tii? I have a swivel Snap On oil filter wrench that's a real pain. So I bought a pair of oil filter pliers which work better.

Hazet Oil Filter Wrench.  74.4mm 14-Point 3/8" drive.  Fits perfectly on Mahle or Mann oil filters.

Disconnect negative battery cable.  Loosen filter until hand tight, put plastic zip-lock baggy over it.  loosen until it drops in baggy.  Oil pan under to catch any oil drips.

I do all of this from beneath the car (my cars still have the battery in the stock location)  I jack up the driver side slightly to help with getting under it.

Griots Garage (I think) oil filter pliers with serrated jaws. It is the only thing I use on all my cars.  Lots of paper towels.  Leave the battery in place. Remove front air cleaner snorkel and element.

Big Channellock .....

+1 weevil !!   back in my old days, the Channellock didn't work one time, so I hammered a screwdriver through the filter to get rotation started.

-----  Was it messy ??  Who cares, I got the filter removed.

Cheers,

Carl

I do remove the front of the air filter, disconnect the battery and work from below, that's the easy part with the car on the lift. Just bought the Hazet from the link above.

Thanks for all the replies.
