 Redline water wetter in your coolant will actually lower temps about 10 degrees or more, but I'd rather have a fully functioning cooling system and not have to use it.  The water wetter makes it run a bit too cool, and it takes longer for the car to get to operating temp.  I keep a bottle in the car though just in case of emergency.  I also strongly suspect the water wetter is just a bit of dish soap with red dye, as some folks have shown that works just as well at lowering temps.
