Hey everyone , I just came across this picture of a 02 with Recaros , can anyone confirm if the seats are in fact Recaro or sport seats , also does anyone recognize what model of BMW are they from ?

I would luv to get a set of Recaros for my 02 project but pricing is just thru the roof for set of e21 Recaros! c23f76c8a28566f7265dfaec952b0dc9.jpg

I've got the sport seats in my 02 and really like them, very comfortable.  had a bit of a fight getting them in.  initi aly they sat way too high.  used bottom frame from 02 stock seat and eventually got them in on stock sliders.  some parts had to be trimmed to fit and lost some adjustment but knees dont hit steering wheel.  much more comfortable than those torture devices known as stock seats.

None, but without mods you seat bottom raises 5/8", which is noticeable but I'm OK with it. Most people are starting below 2002 original height due to age compression of the horse hail bottom so it would be more pronounced in that scenario.

The seat backs are much taller though e30 vs. 2002

Thanks for the response.  Sadly, this seat replacement article used to have many photos.  Maybe it still doesreplacement seats

I recall giving E30 seats a shot and abandoned the project in favor of early 911 seats that did bolt in without any additional fabrication.  I think the donors made it into an E3, but not without bending some sheet metal.

If I am not mistaken, my E30 donors were not direct bolt-in.  There was also a height issue, as you mention.  But, believe it or not, the final straw was weight.  I have had mixed results with newly recovered Recaros and found them to be too high and slightly off-centered to the steering wheel.  The remedy has been custom fabricating brackets or modifying the bottom seat supports.  (Running recovered stock seats at present.)
