You are absolutely correct. I had to replace my CH with 78, E21 CH and machine shop drilled the holes for mechanical fuel pump. Didn't 77 or 78 E21 had the distributer rotate counter clockwise? My machine shop utilized my original cam and the helical gear at the end of the cam in this 78 CH.

I believe that happened in 1979....
