My New Book, "Ran When Parked," About Resurrecting a '72 tii, is Now Available on Amazon

(I'll do this only once and then switch to paid advertising. Thanks for your tolerance.)

I am astonished to say that, due to the wonders of print on demand, my new book "Ran When Parked" is available right now on Amazon!

There are actually three ways to get the new book:

--Click on the link (https://www.amazon.com/Ran-When-Parked-Resurrected-Road-Tripped/dp/099895070X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494072086&sr=8-1&keywords=rob+siegel+ran+when+parked ) to buy the book on Amazon. Amazon will do its "people who bought THIS also liked THIS" thing, and that's good.

--Come to The Vintage in Asheville NC May 19th-21st and buy one of the 100 signed numbered first-edition copies directly from Louie and me.

--Go to my completely lame 20 year old website, www.robsiegel.com, and click on the link to buy a personally-inscribed copy of the book directly from me. However, I DO NOT HAVE MY COPIES YET, AND WILL NOT HAVE THEM UNTIL I RETURN FROM THE VINTAGE ON MONDAY MAY 22nd AT THE EARLIEST. (And, yes, selling them myself, I do get the full book price as opposed to getting a 40% royalty on Amazon, but honestly, I'm perfectly happy to sell them on Amazon, get the sales ranking and the linking, and not have to stuff envelopes.)

--Yes, I will be doing a Kindle version (Createspace makes this easy), but not until after I get back from The Vintage.

--Two people have asked me about an audio version. I'd actually love to read this thing out loud. I need to look into that.

Yes, this does mean that, technically, the second printing is available before the first printing, but I had no way to know that that was going to happen. I approved the proof copy of the Amazon Createspace-produced version yesterday, and Createspace essentially said "Congratulations! Your book is now available on Amazon!" I looked, and holy crap, it was. They print them on demand. "Availability" has an entirely different meaning then waiting for a print run, as I am doing now.

I am grateful beyond words for the interest, support, and love that folks have shown me during the trip and the writing process. A number of folks have asked me how the hell I did this, and so quickly. While I don't want to be one of those authors who blogs about self-publishing, I am writing a blog post about it (the story behind "Ran When Parked," if you will. Hey! Maybe that's my next book!)

Congrats Rob. Bought my copy this morning.

Pretty impressive what modern technology can do for getting something in print out to the masses.

Amazon and a Rob Siegel book.

When Prime two day shipping isn't fast enough.....Looking forward to it.

Loose: Not tightly bound. Subject to motion.
Lose: What happens when you are spell check dependent.

1975 Malaga. It is rusty and  springs an occasional leak.  Just like me.

I'm amazed you find the time to write books with all the BMW mechaniking that you do?

All that thinking makes his hair grow - really fast!  Each time I see Rob he looks different.

Jim, no, that's the combination of brake fluid and starting fluid -- nature's hair restorer!
