Doh!  He's got my gear shift knob!

What are the odds? Not two hours ago I wrote in Jim Gerock's Wannabe Ti blog:

Hi Jim,

I've read your blog from start to finish over the past week, and I want to congratulate you on your knowledge, mechanical skills, perseverance, excellent photography, and a beautiful car at the end of the journey (a journey that never really ends)!

Many other members have done fantastic work, Marshall, Heinemann, Class David to name a few, but much of their work is beyond my toolkit and experience.  Your rebuild of a stock 2002 to stock Ti speaks volumes to me.

I'm sure I will be referring back to your well-documented work numerous times in the coming years.

There's one thing...  I had a great little Bristol 1600 when I was in high school, and when I could afford it after college, I bought a Colorado 2002 and gave the 1600 to a friend in need.  But that 1600 had the greatest gear shift knob, and when I bought the 2002, I moved it to that car.  It looked just like:

I left the States for many years, left the Colorado in storage and then with a friend and never retrieved it, but I never forgot about that shifter knob!  ( My friend's father got it running after 10 years of storage; I hope he's still driving it!)

Now, 30 years after I lost track of that Colorado I have fulfilled my dream to own a really cherry '02 again.  A beautiful Tii.

If only I could find a shifter knob like yours.

Anybody out there?!

Many thanks Les!  My shifter has the plastic cap with the shift knob pushed on as a friction fit.  I have to work out if I can remove that cap and thread this knob onto the shaft.  If so, SOLD!
