Stopped on the interstate to help a fellow 02'er this morning that was broken down... Blown radiator hose, he had someone in route already to pick him up.
I'm only about a year into the 02 game but I really thought this was Sahara. He said it was Nevada... I would have lost a fortune in that bet... I need to study up on colors more I guess... b004c525501c1ba204e0fc20d9107a57.jpg

Sahara

Similar enough that the faded example on the side of the road could easily be confused.

I'd take that bet with you too ...

very much looks like Sahara

that looks much less green than nevada

maybe it is just your camera ...

or maybe he wishes it was nevada and not sahara <_<

look at my profile for 'nevada' ...

Drove down to Terry Sayther's shop yesterday to meet up with those that were driving out together for Terry's Spring 02berfest.  Here's a few pics. I only drove part of the way as I have the fun task of having some wisdom teeth extracted.  Ugh...

Maybe he meant that the factory color was Nevada...before the color change to Sahara....?

blown radiator hose ...... wipe it clean, wrap it with lots of duct tape, fill the system, and drive home with the radiator cap only sorta/kinda in place, that way no system pressure buildup.  Been there, done that from East L.A.

Cheers,

Carl

Are they your original 74' hoses?  I know its crazy talk, but its okay to buy new ones.

After recent engine rebuild...re-torqued head bolts and adjusted valves to spot on .007

Some were sloppy loose and engine sounded like sewing machine. After now smooth as silk and was very surprised that rough idle shake went away with better valve clearance

Why? Any explanations??

Why?.....The engine is now balanced dynamically (sucking and blowing evenly in and out of the valves).  Each piston needs to have the equal amount of air/fuel mixture of volume on each compression stoke.  All pistons working at there equal share spinning the crank.
