Love that picture, Barney. That Turkis is something special. Reminds me of a bird from southern Africa, called the Lilac Breasted Roller... locally known as "the engagement ring" bird, for its flashy colors as it flys.

I got to sort out a little more of my dash wiring.

(I'm reassembling a car that I did not take apart, and it's my first 2002, so I'm learning on the job. lol

But I got the cigarette lighter fixture in the dash and plugged in, found the light switch, installed and plugged it in. Little things like that.

Applied sunscreen, to the car,  and pushed her out into the sun for the first time since fall 2011. Pumped most of the old gas out of the top of the tank. There were about 5 gallons. I expected it to smell worse but its amber hue spoke volumes, yuck. Speaking of yuck the screen at the bottom of the fuel pickup was black. The tank looks pretty good! Tomorrow I’ll drain the remnants of fuel out the bottom of the tank and replace rubber gasket on top and screen in the tank. Fuel line replacement, screen cleaning and a new fuel this week weather permitting. I’ve enjoyed getting reacquainted with faq since I decided not to sell my car. I had Good Old Girl for 27 years. It amazes me how many original owners are here. Alex

New rear tires, and a new spare tire.  Yesterday I called my local tire guy (J&D Tire Barn in La Habra) and said I wanted three 165/80R13's, he said no problem.  I was first in line this morning at his shop and 45 minutes later I was back on the road.  And he was nice enough to not mess with the patina on any of the (still original) rims.

Swapped the steering wheel for a nardi my wife bought for my birthday last year and a shift knob purchased from three_cross. I got lucky that they match so well.

I have the same wheel and I love it.

I've been considering the option for visibility. LED? Straight hook up/tap to one of the rear brake wire lights or did you run relay from the brake switch?

When someone on their phone comes screaming up on your stopped car they will never see that strip mounted that low!

Got a shipment of parts in from blunt!
Bit the bullet and ordered the $27 black locking strip retaining clip since I was missing one of mine... I'll paint my silver one black. I thought the black lock strips would have an inflated price also but they were half price of the silver! Score! 73a8c1359088efbcc39b5f56a2429af1.jpg
