Curious where you bought your front belts?

Mine are arriving Tues from Seat Belts Plus

Reinstalling belts that came with the car.

They seem to work fine and the belts themselves aren't frayed or otherwise damaged.

Today I finished installing the belts for the driver position.

Incidentally, I used a technique from Paul Wegweiser to locate the seatbelt anchor points and make clean holes in the carpet. I used a pick to find the mounting pionts, then heated up a heavy punch with my  torch and melted holes in the carpet. Perfect!

I also riveted in quarter window trim, and struggled to install door seals, with no success as yet. Whew! That one's a PITA.

Actually, what I did yesterday:  Added More Miles !!

---   605 North to 210 West to 2 North to 210 West to 118 West to Rocky Peak Road and west downhill into Simi Valley ...... no traffic, and I would never admit to exceeding the speed limit .......

In a couple of weeks the SoCal Vintage drivers will also exit at Rocky Peak, and head west downhill for about 1 mile, thus enjoying these exact scenic views ......

No rear shoulder harnesses on U.S.-spec 2002’s

That is correct about the rear shoulder harnesses. But, if you run your fingers up the vinyl of the rear roof pillars, you'll find "factory" bolt holes to mount rear shoulder harness pivot bolts. All you need are the assemblies from another BMW donor, a little welding of the retractable seat belt reels in the trunk and you're in business!

After waiting 6 weeks for my Koni’s to show up and putting the entire suspension back together (new bushing and strut bearing as well),  I drove it to work.  Still a little ratty but lots of fun with the new set up.

Today I made a rack extender, that mounts on the trailer hitch.

One inch round bar, welded to a chunk of three quarter inch bolt, then welded inside a one inch nut.

I have been given a boat and need a way to get it down from Friday Harbor.  It is a four ferry trip.

The boat is fourteen feet long, forty-six inches wide, one hundred and fifty pounds... this should do it.

I made the height adjustable, to accommodate the curve at the top of the boat.

One more reason to love my big bumpers.

I will probably stow it in the trunk for the trip up.

Well, crap.  I sent these photos to my cousin last night, asking when it would be a good time to come up and get the boat and got this response:

Tom

I’ve arranged to sell it to a guy on Craig’s list since it seemed too much work for you - sorry

I am sorry to say there will not be any photos of the boat on top of the BMW.  Here is a photo he'd sent me though.  (the little trailer is not license-able)

Time to go take all that plumbing off of the 2002.  Including the hitch.  That thing is a shin buster.
