I'm using a newer, higher amperage, internally regulated alternator so no external voltage regulator. Wondering if maybe the behavior could be caused by the temperature sensor ground,? Unfortunately don't seem to have a suitable socket or wrench to remove and clean the temperature sensor threads.

Hmm...

The alternator case is grounded with a lead, right?

Finally got all my dash lights working. I had a bad bulb holder but that wasn't the only issue. The contact material on the board had worn out over the years so it couldn't complete the circuit. I ended up running a couple jumper wires and now the lights work great! b0d8b1c7c4f74eb16c193bbb743e8ce7.jpg

Degrease, treat surface rust, white spirit, sand, wax and grease remover.

Rinse and repeat.

Then paint first coat, 2 more to go. Then some sort of wax in all the nook and crannies, I have a 5 litre tin of Waxoyl.

Tatty wheel wells starting to look better.

All suspension, stripped rust treated, primed and painted.

This week will be, New eibachs, new discs + pads, new flexible hoses, new rear cylinders, new brake drums + shoes, new wheel bearings, paint servos..... probably more?

Oh yeah and clean and paint calipers......

In the '60's, those blue instrument lights would have been called, "blue make-out" lights.  Oh, those days...  Thanks for stimulating some dormant memory neurons.

Piston design spec was 12.5:1.

I would like to see the dyno specs on that engine with pump gas...and what induction system it will be running... curious as to the 121 configuration with those huge pistons....

‘Pump gas’ = 110 octane is what we run on the track (see “new race engine build” in my original post). 121 chambers in the head are not modified; big dome a result of modeling and careful spec/design.

In our class/racing organizations we run a Weber 38/38. -KB
