What did you do to your 2002 today !

Recommended Posts

"Clocked" my windshield wiper mechanism, then installed the wiper arms and blades. Everything worked great.

Tried to get the sunroof's headliner panel installed, but ran into troubles there. I'll revisit it later and try some things.

I also finished some fuel hardline sections where the new return line enters the trunk.

Turned the key and listened to the engine turn over. YAY!!!

We're not running yet, but we're very, very close.

Had to change out the fuel pump and the fuel line from the firewall to the carburettor.  On my '72, the hard plastic fuel line from the firewall was directly inserted into the 8mm line going to the fuel pump and clamped.  That did not look right to me.  So, I bought a 5/16 to 1/4 brass reducer. Turned the 1/4 side on my little lathe.  Created a head of about .245, neck of about .220.  Clamped the two hoses together.  This connection is not going to leak air or come off.

Brazed the front fenders, filled and shaped both sides then put a 2nd coat of epoxy primer on. Followed up with 2 coats of high build primer on the front half. Will finish off the rest of the car tomorrow. Then went and bought a set of sweet rims. I had minilites on a 510 back in the late 70’s and I’ve always wanted a set for a 2002. Now I do!

I know some people don’t like minilites because they say “everyone has them”

But you can see why, they are a lovely wheel!

and easy  to clean,

I know.... I have bloody weaves?
