... I had them professionally cleaned up, gutter rash repaired and machine polished. I painted the inserts satin black.

You do realize that these statements require a photograph under forum rules? ?

I’m here waiting! ?

Best regards,

Steve

Popped off the diving board. Now working straightening up the shorty bumper I have a bit, and then I’ll turn my attention to making some mounts.

Mon-Tues and today:

Finally got the wiper motor and drive assembly out of Rust Bucket the donor car. (that car hates me by the way)

I got lucky there, the drive assembly is in great shape with minimal wear in pivot points or shafts.

Cleaned, painted, lubed drive and motor and installed to replace Survivors DOA motor and linkage.

Success! runs in all speeds and parks ok.

The wiper blades I bought at Auto Zone are useless as you can see, don't conform to the glass curvature.

Any recommendations on wiper blades that actually work?

Also got the overhauled heater box installed (new heater core, motor, fan, seals and pivots.

fan runs in all 3 speeds and pretty quiet as well.

Fixed my reverse lights.

My parts pile is gettin smaller?

swap blades first. If that did not work reverse blades. This time swap arm and blade as assembly. I know driver side has air baffle plate. you trying to prove either blade is bad or wiper arm tension is weak on driver side. That's my 2 cents.

Lots of downtime the last couple of weeks.

-Picked up a new washer bottle, put a couple coats of primer on the pump bracket, re-wired the connectors and added new nylon washer tubing.

Refreshed the whole cooling system, new high efficiency rad, new water pump, new thermostat, as well as a new water divider and vdo sensors.  Finally have accurate temp readings, and for the first time since ownership, I'm no longer overheating!

Feels good.
