My faux wood dash was a scratched mess and my Tii clock was non functional, so I stripped out the dash gauges and clocks, replaced the Tii clock, painted the back of the pod white, cleaned up the clocks replaced all of the lamps, and painted the facia satin black. The gauges are nicely illuminated which surprised me, I followed The instructions on the Mytii site (thanks Keith) including the trim rings in the painting really makes a difference.

Will refit my newly rebuilt console  and console gauges after I fix the corner wrap, and have already fitted my restored heater box.

Slowly tidying the car up, already did the heater plenum as well, with a strip, sand rust treat, prime and reprint and new sound insulation. Oh and saturated under the windscreen lip up inside the plenum with antirust wax, and also sprayed some clear wax in the base of the plenum.

Today the door frame got sandblasted together with the new hinge panel. Pleased with the result, took a while to reach all the tight spots as the sandblasting cabinet at work was just big enough for the door frame to fit in.

After sandblasting, both the frame and the new door skin got a coat of corroless, now we can start on repairing the door frame and fit the new skin.

(bottom of the door frame will obviously need to be replaced)

Chamonix ‘73

the LSD has fresh seals in it and a coat of paint. The trailing arms have been cleaned and painted. I would have mounted all of that mess on the car but I forgot to prep/paint the hardware that holds the subframe bushings to the subframe. Duh... Oh well, there’s always next time.

That’s a serious burn-through - did that cylinder go lean, @TobyB ?

It did not, oddly enough, and there's no sign of detonation.  I run one o2 and

4 egts, and was running 12.6 and 1300f all weekend- pretty fat.  And yep, I went

back and checked the logs...

There IS a sign that the exhaust valves and the pistons were making some serious friends

in there, though- I would not have thought the valves could lift the

head, but so far, that's the biggest thing I've found.

It seems to have been a bad case of 'well, I gots this here set 'o pistons, and this here cammyschaft,

what could possibly go wrong?"

I put this together in 2006, so I have no idea what I was thinking...

Apparently enough to have a race engine run for 14 years?

Installed my NOS Hella rear fog lamp. Tucks very nicely under the Amco bar. 20200730_195706~01.jpg

I've been wanting to do this for years, since following another Roundie in heavy rain and realizing the only thing I could see through the spray was the rear fog light.
