What did you do to your 2002 today !

Recommended Posts

Replaced rubber seal for hood.  Not much..

Assembled welding cart.

Moved the gym outta the garage to give me more room to work on 02.

Need to do some rust stop/prevention to latest acquisition doors and trunk lid (pictured), but moving all the gym weights, bench, etc inside and upstairs just about did me in.   Maybe tomorrow before football...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is it just me or does that “bring joy” to the whole engine bay?  Almost a sign that all is well in the world (of 02’s at least).

Haha yeah... I've seen enough people do it now and I've been meaning to do it for ages. It made me smile. The little things!

I finally got serious about making my 6cyl head assembly stand also work for 4cyl heads. All 8 tangs are tacked in place. Looking forward to using it later this week to strip that head. The machine shop called and said the head I took in was warped .008”! This one is much better but needs guides/etc.

Pulled apart my e21 distributor... Going to be frankensteining it into a cam position sensor. Remove weights, affix upper to lower shaft, and cut down the housing. Hopefully it can be a nice, low profile puck by the time I am done with it. Also switched the gear with my 2002 dizzy since I know it rotates the other way.

Here:

Today I made a lot of progress converting this to a crank sensor.

I cut down the main shaft, cut parts off of the reluctor wheel, tacked the vacuum advance in place, cut the housing down, and jammed the reluctor wheel down to the bottom of the distributor.

Just have to fill some holes and make a top plate and should be good to go!

Not a thing haven't driven it in two weeks. Just looked at all the saw dust covering it from doing house projects before the Michigan winter. Plan to drive it Saturday for sure.  Also purchased yellow paint to correct that dipstick.  Love the little details.

You guys are a bad influence.

Hello everybody!
A few days ago, I received some original/used parts from 2002AD to fix that annoying red “BRAKE” light on the dashboard.

I ordered the brake reservoir float and the rubber grommet, as my reservoir cap was still working and I had all the other parts needed.

Here are the results...no more annoying light on the dashboard!!!!

Thank you 2002AD!

Added new shoes!  Was able to put a full set plus spare of 5Jx13 wheels for the Tii.  Bought wheels from 3 different members here to get a full set as well as 2 more locally for $10!  Blasted and painted.  Just took it out for my first spin on the Pirelli Cinturato CN36.  Drove great!
