I wired my H&R springs in the front. Thought this was a odd or a bad fit. Guessing this is normal ?

Pretty exhaustive review of the various threads suggests that a fair number of folks with shorter springs have the issue.  The two ways to deal with it are wire and clamps.  Have only seen photos of wired solutions, but as I say above clamps appear to give adequate clearance.  We’ll see.

I'm not sure there is room for that hose clamp between the inner fender and the spring cap.

People usually use wire.

If I did what people usually do I wouldn’t have all these scars I like to brag about.  So I have reinstalled the driver’s side assembly now, and at full right turn I can get one finger over the top of the clamp and two in front of it before I contact fender metal.  Given that the strut is fixed laterally and vertically in place, I have pretty good confidence in the solution.

Good deal.  Thanks for the follow up and a photo to prove it.

Sorry for casting doubt on your solution.  I haven't secured mine yet.  I just make sure they're aligned before setting it back down.  Usually.

Tom

Don’t be.  Just keep your fingers crossed for me.  Oh yeah, and I secured the bottom spring pads with Gorilla tape.  Don’t tell anyone on the faq.?

Thought about and made a test replacing the parking light bulb with a LED and pulsing it at 40 Hz with a duty cycle of 75% to make it a little bit annoying like the DRL of the Mercedes W212. Finally decided upon leaving everything as it is and went back to good old tungsten.

Changed front main seal. The one in there was hard as a rock and leaking. Crumbled when I pulled it out.

Installed modern underhood AC components. And cleaned. Always more underbody cleaning to do.

Replaced the tie rods finally. I had replaced one that I broke when I replaced the center linkage and had the other 3 sitting since pre-COVID.  Very rewarding update

I also adjusted the shifter platform (again) and found that one of the clips was missing from the shifter rod. Luckily I had some extra ones and even more luckily I was able to find them!!
