What did you do to your 2002 today !

Painting started today. Got some pics of the first items. So excited to see things really moving along. Body gets shot next week. Bought full LED lights for car including new flasher, finished gas tank. Working on prepping electrical system. Brake system done and ready to go on, same with fuel system.

Anyone have a recommendation for a shop in San Jose, CA to service the driveshaft? Looking to change the bearing and balance the driveshaft. Any thoughts on making the u joint “serviceable”? (Adding Grease fittings)

I've always used Drive Line Service of San Leandro, might be a little far for you to go.

 

I would recommend against serviceable u joints, the zirc fitting creates a weak point. You can use datsun z u joints for a stronger u joint.

I did however go on a local scrounge run and picked up some stuff from a 78 E21.

Thanks. San Leandro is not a problem if the quality of the work justifies it. I’ll check them out.

Rebuilt my master cylinder

tested out the new gopro with the 2002 again and this time got a few clips I think we all will enjoy.

Redid my rear shelf and installed it on the Tii and started removing the floor gunk from Ziggy. Floor boards were in pretty good shape. Then I relocated this little guy who hitched a ride tucked away in the car when the car came from WA

As if I didn't have enough projects I want to get done this winter. I ordered and installed these today.

DanJer Motorsports  suspension parts.  Nice quality and easy install.  Also got a Inertia Switch for my  electric fuel pump.

I'll install when I do my new gas tank

A little house cleaning and prep for the new clutch/245 install; installed new rear crank seal, cleaned crank threads with tap chaser and rubbing alcohol on a pipe brush, popped out the old pilot bearing with “genuine” German puller (I have “Leute” mit Dingen, y’all), popped new bearing in after shrinking it in the freezer.  The original parts were all in great shape, but hey....

Test fit the fenders and moved it outside back to/on lift to button welding in arch’s and floor repair....

Finished up install of vintage Hella 177 driving lights.

pulled the grilles and looks to be all original sheet metal and paint in very nice shape.
