What did you do to your 2002 today !

Made progress with this rolling shell, 73 Polaris automatic I bought in Cupertino about 15 years ago

which it spent some time shortly afterwards at Michael Dubois' shop in Hollister for repair of tow-inflicted damage to the nose, as well as repaint.

Got it down to San Diego and priorities changed - got interested in the bikes, hardly touched the cars.

Rolled the Polaris out today for a wash.

I've been reorganizing the garage and checking the stashed parts, thinking it's time to give the bikes a rest focus on the cars awhile.

I believe I'll get the Nevada up and running again this year.

my oil catch can filter mounted above the firewall was filling the cabin with fumes.  Removed the filter from the catch can and tied the output back into the ITG filter.

Had to drill a hole in the mounting plate, but It came out pretty clean.

Nicely done.

This sounds like a bigger issue that should be looked at. You shouldn't have a lot of fumes coming out of the valve cover, you should do compression and leak down testing to see if your piston rings are letting combustion gas into the crankcase.

If the fumes are getting into the passenger cabin you should check for holes in the firewall and/or hood seals.

Made a distribution block so I could have oil pressure and temperature.  Made from 3/4" cold rolled 1018 solid.

And kids, just because it looks like 1/8 npt doesn't mean it is 1/8 npt. Apparently that 30/9 indicates m10x1.  Oh yeah.

With the oil flowing into but not through the distribution block it will be fine for sensing pressure but may act like a bit of an isolator for the temp sensor.

Good point, I'll check it out.

Took out the old seats, and installed the new ones (from a touring). Had to swap out the runners, but all pretty straight forward. Which is nice.

Went to put on the freshly re-trimmed headrests - didn't fit! 12mm posts rather than the 10mm I need. So if anyone has some decent sand/tan 10mm headrest, let me know!

Shame! You should have redone & kept the original seats with their corduroy inserts. Warm in the winter to sit on and cool in the summer months, not to mention somewhat rare.

The rear seat didn't come out of a Touring.

Don't like the colour of the corduroy. It's only rare if it remains original, and they were in poor condition. Front seats were from a Touring, and the rear seats were re-trimmed using the rear seat covers from the same Touring.

As if I didn't have enough projects I want to get done this winter. I ordered and installed these today.

DanJer Motorsports  suspension parts.  Nice quality and easy install.  Also got a Inertia Switch for my  electric fuel pump.

I'll install when I do my new gas tank

About ten years ago, the original dealer license plate frame cracked. And since then, I have been on the hunt for a replacement, including going to the dealership to see if they had one stashed away in storage.

Today, a pair showed up online, and I grabbed them. Who knew finding an old license plate frame would be so fulfilling!? The crazy things we do for our steel horses.
