Looks great!  I've been curious about adding LED's back there.  Would you be able to tell me how that's done, what to do?  Or maybe there's a thread or article on this...

Renewing the accelerator pedal bushings.  The clutch and brake appear to be in good shape.  Looks like someone may have been in here before.  Sorry for the dirt, I just discovered this under that carpet section!  Looks like 50 years worth.

I cut, painted, and installed a IE spoiler (I don't recommend - Fit is not great).
Took Twoey to a Cars and Coffee, then subsequently met an Alpina!20220709_091334.thumb.jpg.5e2e10acc8a743f89859cd3d2d0ecc20.jpg

Took Little S@#t (Fox) for a drive, he may look unimpressed....but trust me....he was.

But most importantly added a wonderful decal that explains my sunburnt paint!

SHINY PAINT CAUSES STRESS!

.... At least that's what I tell myself to avoid painting a car.

Today I started sorting the parts out to finish up injection/pump/intakes on the Ceylon tii, its a lot easier to put back it all back together when you have one you haven’t taken apart to look at…that’s why you have to have two…

Leveled the front bumper.   It was tilted down and while it looked ok from above, from the side it was awful.  I asked a few shops that work on 2002s, and everyone kinda shrugged- as if it had come from the factory this way.   But it's a German car, and that couldn't be!    Anyway, thanks to the 2002 FAQ, I found a thread where someone suggested removing the bumper mounts, then swapping them from side to side and flipping them over.   I enlisted the help of my teenage gear-head son, and bingo- MUCH improved.  Not perfect, but good enough for me.

I have to do this to my car, It's been droopy since I've owned it.  Can you please point me to the thread for the recipe?

Thanks.

We replaced the old fuel line with a new OEM plastic one on the 71

In the name of science we set fire to the old one.

It did collapse onto its self,,,   mostly.

The bubble is from blowing air after the fire went out.

If I had a pretty old one would replace with new or go under the car.

Said goodbye for 30 days, we are off to see Miklos Meszaros to pick up some pointers on my E9 refresh with a stop in to see Albrecht Walloth and Alexander Nesch along the way…back in a month.

Today, I took a break from head work and met a friend who showed me his new purchase:  1974 2002.  Likely Fjord.  Not sure.  Nice car, 5-speed, ready to drive and enjoy.  He says it will be a good all-around-town car.  Good condition E21 seats and perfect E21(?) 14" rims.  Its stablemate will be a restored 911.  My friend asked about a metallic popping sound he hears each time the DS door opens.  "Oh," I said, "Let me and many other '02 owners tell you about the Door Brake Symphony..."

I guess I’m a glutton for punishment. It was 104 in my driveway this afternoon...

New brakes for the Inka car. SS soft lines, calipers, discs, Porterfield R4S pads and shoes; plus swapped out the tired Cromodoras for a refinished set of Octavo 100+

I’m not finished... car was missing the driver’s side caliper, including mounting hardware and hard lines. Gotta scrounge some...
