What did you do to your 2002 today !

Recommended Posts

My Tial wg was acting up last summer… boost, no boost, some etc. Today took it off and tear it apart. Turns out 3 of 4 screws that holds diagraph assembly to valve were out from threads and jammed it. Cleaned nicks with sandpaper, put it back together and locktited those little buggers.

Meh. Was about to by HKS wg. Well maybe next time.

Upper timing cover re-installed - so far no more leaks!  New OE negative battery cable installed.  New OE exhaust header cover installed.  New rocker cover acorn nuts installed (left the one plug wire holder off for now until engine timing done). Door card renovation in progress...

A discussion from Kymiring paddock comes to my mind... Would be really interesting to see what the innards of the wastegate looks....Well yea, but it's definitely not one of the easy access components...😃 Is there Loctite that works in that kind of heat?

Doing today - I'm redoing stands for the racecar. For some reason I don't feel comfortable in the space that was plenty 20 years ago. Need higher stands. Been working with some side skirts that need them too.

Racing is Life - everything before and after is just waiting!

I’ll take a pic next time lol. To my surprise all (8) bolts came loose easily - ceramic paste does make wonders. Loctite was just regular stuff, I’ll find out how that works out.

Let us know how you finish those door cards out.  Interested in knowing the latest/greatest materials and techniques.

using SEM Surecoat.  Hvlp.  Came out fantastic.  Was worried it was too thick on the one light coat and two wet but no problem. The paint really takes on the grain of the vinyl.  As she dries up the grain comes back to life.

the cards - front and back look super too.

then the dredded Mylar chrome.      🤨

Spent the better part of a rainy Saturday with @BarneyT at his shop putting in new sway bars on his coupe [with a much needed assist by @k3vin to hammer in the front brackets], tweaking the front window alignments - it really is all about the 3 bolts around the crank - and taking care of a bunch of misc small stuff
