Stuart still had the original spaghetti belts, until today.  Fortunately, two owners prior had purchased them from @bluedevils and the box of retractable belts came with the car.  Happy to have this upgrade completed.

Also, as I've stated before, nothing rusts in the garage/shop.  I keep it ridiculously dry in there.  I once read that anything below 20% RH should not allow oxidation.  7% is even better.

Took our youngest to Cars N Coffee in Tustin and enjoyed meeting another FAQ member and hearing about his ‘71! She helped me finish the front bumper install-first time since 2008 that my car has worn its bumper…when I bought it, it had ‘73 brackets so it’s nice to have it all the way it should be. Big day for my ‘02…feels like it’s finally getting to where I’d like it to be after too many years. Had a really nice sunset drive out in the hills and canyons of North OC/Hacienda Heights.

Love it, great looking car, the bus wheel looks good to!

A couple of questions Barney, Is that an Ireland exhaust? And what do you think of the rear battery holder? I need somewhere to tie my scuba tank off to, it’s going to wreck my side panels if I’m not careful, I don’t fancy floor tie downs as the tanks are just to heavy,  I think the holder would be quite study especially tied into the rear shock mount? I assume you can just make sure the mounting holes are well painted and a quick spray of cavity wax up inside the mount from underneath would negate any rust issues?

The exhaust system is from Walloth and Nesch I’m very happy with the sound… I also installed the rear brace to secure things from sliding around in the trunk.

my dad was a commercial fisherman on the gulf coast, I grew up diving the oil rigs off the Texas coast, as well as the flower garden…

Finally got my hydraulics bled. New clutch cylinders, new brake hard lines and stainless lines, new rear wheel cylinders and shoes, and my second set of new e24 calipers. I now have good firm pedals for both systems. Springtime for first test drive is drawing near.
