What did you do to your 2002 today !

Well I know I know I should be focusing on bodywork and paint eventually, but since they were free.... euro turn signals! Once body work starts, sat goodbye to those side reflectors (as well as all of the trim). I also was given a shorty euro bumper center section, so the hunt is on to find some end pieces.

Fun fact: my old turn signals didn’t work because they weren’t plugged in by the shop that fixed my front clip, and these don’t work because I forgot to get new lightbulbs. Great. Just great.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((except for the belt line)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))?

weeellll...... i think the belt line might be going too. i’m going to do those holes last though so i can mull it over. shaving the belt line has been the plan for the last 5ish years, but now that it’s time to actually do it i’m taking the time to make sure i’m really sold on the idea

Both look great! Plans for the 69????

I’ll know more after I get it running (or, not...) - as for now, plan is to drive it to/from work if it comes to life and shake it down for issues, until I turn the Bavaria into a reliable commuter. -KB

I spent the rest of my garage time removing all of the reflectors from the 6 tails that I had to make 1 good set of “red” turns for the ‘68 and the best “amber” turns I could  muster. None of them are perfect, but I've no plans for pebble beach either. I still need to run a buffing wheel across the tails to bring out the luster, but at least they’re clean and complete now.

also, not 20 minutes after I finished all of that my coworker asked me if I wanted him to redo my Recaros. He’s a great upholsterer and he’s been looking for projects to teach his son on. He’s done so many of these seats that these will be easy for him and a good way for his son to learn. The best part? I just have to pay for material. It seemed like such a no brainer that I yanked out the passenger seat right then and there so he could color match it. Going vinyl instead of leather though. The real stuff isn’t in my budget right now, although I may consider doing some cloth inserts. I'm not sure quite yet, but free is free.

Ordered the schrick 304 cam so I can run the 123ignition as it needs to have a CW cam gear.  Well it was a good excuse for ordering it.
