dang, Steven... that AC has been a pain for you!  I think the cross-drilled nuts and bolts with safety wire will keep things in check.

^ Yeah its been some work. My Hobbie Dave bracket has cracked twice due to bolt backing out and then vibration breaking everything. I rewelded both times and strengthened it where i could. As long as i can stop these bolts vibrating loose on long journeys i wont have any problems.

Hmmm....my Hobiedave bracket is steel just like the Clardy bracket that was replaced.  Have had no issues.

Resealed and cleaned up this yesterday B7000058-009C-49EE-9F64-6AA39BED4007.thumb.jpeg.26bc038982f311c2de4cd10c1199e072.jpeg

Lots more thread left on the adjuster than the current box, where the top of the adjuster is nearly flush with the top of the jam nut. Extra bonus for the concours judges, the late ‘73 casting date on the case should be correct for my car’s May ‘74 build date.

Tonight, I switched from this

(Sparco R368 380mm)

Yeah, it’s not quite "right" for the car, but there aren’t a ton of 380mm wheels out there. It also has 1" more dish, which means I can move the seat back a notch for more legroom while keeping my arms in a good position. I’m also curious how the suede and gloves will be on track. Hoping bigger wheel and a bit more grip will cut down on the hand and shoulder fatigue until I can get proper seats, roll bar and harnesses in the car.

Any suggestions for leather dye products to get rid of that yellow stripe?

The Momo went back in it’s original packaging for safekeeping.

The steering box will go in late this week or maybe Monday. Looking forward to getting rid of the on center slop. Will go back to the IE heavy duty rubber mounts at the same time from the IE urethane mounts that I asked Patrick to put in when he was working on the car. I’m getting a pretty obnoxious resonance inside the car from 2,700 to 3,300rpm that isn’t audible outside. Hoping it’s the mounts passing it through to the body. Even if it isn’t they’re a bit "buzzy" for me and we’ll look at the exhaust next.

Unfortunately, the turbo charge pipes prevent just lifting the engine and slipping the mounts in. I need to lower the subframe while supporting the engine instead.
