What did you do to your 2002 today !

Just be aware Chamonix actually has two different formulations on the same paint code (useful no?). The 'early' which was brought over from the NK and e9 range is definitely creamier than the 'late' which is closer to white. Mine is supposed to be the early version.

That makes sense because while your car is beautiful it does look a little creamy. I do love the look but if my goal is to "match" my M5 I'm just not sure it's the right move.
In carpentry I always tell people that it's better to be a totally different color than to be just a shade off. Otherwise it looks like you tried to match and failed.
I'm still leaning towards white but Im definitely still open suggestions.

yup. your white M5 is a peach!  That color really works with the M5.

Daily driver? I want an M5 daily driver!

Def' go with the late model Chamonix formulation. It's very close to your Alpine White

Thanks!
No, my daily driver Is my 03 V10 F250 which I use for work, I only use the m5 at night for getting my blood pumping or if I'm taking the wife out for dinner or something. Honestly 90% of the time in the truck I'm just driving from home to the shop and back. I really only need the truck to pick up materials and for installs. As I get closer to the finish line on this o2 Im thinking im gonna start driving it to work during the week and just leave the truck at the shop. If I'm just going to work and back in the truck with nothing extra I'm spending about $80/week in fuel, tack on another $40-50 if I have estimates or an install. After having a v10 car and a v10 truck for so long I forgot that a car could get good mileage and still be fun!
My truck is just about to hit 370k miles btw! 6f9b8e45b43331a3a64aad3ab58825be.jpg

I would just go with the same Alpine white as the M5. It's your dream and the colour is such that it won't hurt the value of the car (if you are worried about that).

Who doesn't like ALPINE WHITE? Looks close to spectacular on that M5...

but.

.I would consider going with the 02  late model formulation of Chamonix for originality

Alpine white is awesome...

but

I had a 72 Chamonix 02 resprayed Alpine White and it didn't look quite right on the 02..

It was just a little too bright for the body style

Or.......go for Black with a white leather interior!

Seriously though, how long do you plan on keeping the M5 (or both for that matter)?

The thread is going off subject a bit, so to bring it back, I sold my ATS classic today. More funds to spend on the transformation!

Agreed. my bad for derailing the thread...

I plan to keep the M5 for 5+ years and the 2002 forever... Ok, ill stop with that now[emoji6].

Yesterday I found out that now that I am lowered a little and have spacers on, the wheels clip the new flares at full turn in the front and they mutilated the the bottoms. So today I did some surgery and adjusted the front halves up about 1.5"... Sad to see that it happened but glad I caught it before paint... That would have been full on depression.

I thought I was gonna end up having to order two new flares for the front but I was able to reshape the mangled wreckage and I think it worked out well. 3754e3bf8b94cb44986d4286483e493e.jpg&key=e026604515ba037dce9e0ce7b411d56fcb6660d05f03788bd541f2d071f5cf5db3b37225eb435b69525d6fa24f7094c4.jpg&key=9bbfdffe17cd4adf57957cb2783e1f9d3c1f3b5fba0e7ab6bb0bda2931a85e84bbaf0bde536292b760dcfda771fbfa7a.jpg&key=95e22448b4413aff145d6d3e06d666e9ae0e2121fa3da56446d5c26c3209f67f4d2067ec3a43207ea66466280cad47eb.jpg&key=ba4ffb73acde1e427fcd8dfc0515b029ca4366b2dbfffc7773eac09b2ef84ca8477653fb40b648386fe6eaaa6e7306f5.jpg&key=4c44fceb52be0f8879804e9e95967268fe795947f1bce794c4fdb561c455598dd1cc020963555cd616f5633799aec6f2.jpg&key=c304d27a7a92e912035222f3ec07a6400ca24cc9f6acb4aaaf782b9d38555e9c681f8bf49ed44628d8794d86e0ec3bcf.jpg&key=402c1603d28760e866ddb9dcd52641331bbb444e37c16a2b0b57bac16b7a4f5e

It looks nice but I would suggest toning it a little to get a better color match. You can buy toner at a Woodfinishing supplier. If you could get a bmw badge cnc'd on to it that would be really cool!

I am not good at staining wood to match aged wood.  That shade is just about the limit of my ability.

I made a brass badge for the horn button;  Decided plain wood is better.
