No, my daily driver Is my 03 V10 F250 which I use for work, I only use the m5 at night for getting my blood pumping or if I'm taking the wife out for dinner or something. Honestly 90% of the time in the truck I'm just driving from home to the shop and back. I really only need the truck to pick up materials and for installs. As I get closer to the finish line on this o2 Im thinking im gonna start driving it to work during the week and just leave the truck at the shop. If I'm just going to work and back in the truck with nothing extra I'm spending about $80/week in fuel, tack on another $40-50 if I have estimates or an install. After having a v10 car and a v10 truck for so long I forgot that a car could get good mileage and still be fun!
My truck is just about to hit 370k miles btw! 6f9b8e45b43331a3a64aad3ab58825be.jpg

I had a 1600 years ago that my painter talked me into painting Alpine white. Definitely a brighter color than Chamonix. Looked good but if i had that car today I would go with Chamonix. M5 looks good with Alpine white. And I always wondered if trucks are fun to drive - based on the majority of men in this country driving them? For me I spend enough of my life in a car that I want to enjoy being there - and thus an 02 for daily driving!

I do enjoy driving a big truck, even better if I'm pulling my 16' enclosed trailer. It feels like I'm driving a speeding freight train. It also makes the 02 feel like a go cart! Oh wait I stopped! My bad again.

My restoration shop had a display at the 3rd Annual Virginia Coastal Autoshow this weekend so my car was on display. Almost done - all that remains is the new rear bumper.

Our architect is being featured for her garage "plus" designs.  Our shop and two others she did will be showcased in a magazine next summer.

each garage has a different theme.

mine is a working large shop with storage and office/workout space above.

second garage is small detached two car with studio apartment above.

third garage is normal sized two car with master bedroom suite above attached to house.

all three are within a quarter mile of each other.

Photographer came by today to get some shots of the interior.  This is my cell phone shot of the angle to be used for the downstairs depiction.

The 02 posing front and center...i had to do last minute reinstall of the "pretty" hood...it had the black CF track hood on it 10min before the photog arrived...

Exterior shots will be done in spring when things are green and blooming..

I finally broke down today and decided it is time to use my "new" ignition key.

Way back in 1976 I broke my OEM ignition key while using it as a prybar in a laundromat soap machine (in Fresno, of all places).  So I had a new key made.  A couple of months later I had another key made as a spare.

Well, the 1976 key has finally become worn enough that I'm getting a few hangups and "stickies."  So with great ceremony I removed that first 1976 key from the fob and replaced it with the other "new in 1976" ignition key, which of course works just fine and "feels" much more authoritative.

Cheers,

Carl

Well, I worked on my passenger seat,  took the runners off and proceeded to flush about a pound of dirt off of them.  Then I put new circlips on the base of the seat to keep it in place then splattered my thumb tapping in the hinge retainer for the base.  Also fixed the recliner function as well.

All in all, now my seat will more than 3 inches and someone larger than 3 feet tall can squeeze in the back.   Now onto the driver's side.
