Noticed some loose bolts while under the rear end to replace the gasket on the differential cover. Looks l  like  I need to use some loctite and tighten these. 03EDD2B1-2DC3-4DE6-8468-15E405930EC0.thumb.jpeg.8e6588cdc72180fc1e31ae6dfea4ae2f.jpeg

Use Stage 8 locking fasteners.  They are on my CVs.

I was just looking at them on the W&N site…. When my eyes stopped watering I decided my Recaros look just fine.

That Inka is lovely.

Everytime I go in my shed I look at my TEP battery holder which I’m to chicken to fit, might get the end cut off and changed to adjustable rings?

Tightened the fillister headed screws on half shafts. only two were loose lol. The remaining four were still holding that shaft to the differential.
Put a new differential mount bracket with poly bushings. Added hypoid oil and I can drive again.

Nothing major, but yesterday I added about 8 oz of Marvel Mystery Oil to the crankcase and then today drove about 200 miles to visit my 91 year old lonely Mom in an assisted living place. I took her out for a car ride in the 2002. We  drove around the old neighbor hood. She seemed to really enjoy getting out.

As soon as I returned, I drained the oil before it had a chance to cool off.  I filled back up w/ Castrol 10W40 and a new filter.  Log book indicates last oil change was 5/25/21 and 4133 miles ago. Peering at the valve train through the oil filler it looks cleaner and brighter in there so maybe the MMO treatment might have done some good., but who knows.  I now need to clean up the garage floor where I spilled some dirty oil. But I think it's Miller Time.

Yesterday, I picked up my Speedometer from Bill's Speedometer outside St. Louis.  He transplanted an 'all black' model 71 faceplate onto my '76 speed with a final drive of 3.94 for the LSD.  The gauge was very accurate per the radar trailers the local police put out to test the accuracy of speedometers!  Nice to have the model year-correct black gauge.   After that, the speedo got an overhaul and the odometer should be working.  Will be re-installing over the weekend.

Inverted rear shocks for that extra cool factor. Will probably dampen better too.

Once suspension is installed an dialed, car goes in for full Son Of Cobra Carbon Fiber Treatment. I'm putting this colorado orange 2002 on a serious diet.
