What did you do to your 2002 today !

Last night, I wired up and successfully tested the radio.  Did a test fit of the console, it sits low as this fitting did not include the front bracket which will set this flush with the dash.  Next steps include insulation right behind the console on the back of the firewall above the tunnel
and wiring the blower to the heater.  With my 73, need to do the wiring by-pass on the blower.  Last weekend, I installed the Condenser and fan using the 'Siegel Method'.  (Yes, I need to trim the drivers' side carpet and redo the pinch welt.)  (The large black item is a Kooglewerks speaker enclosure for the passenger side.)  (I will likely slap on some dark paint on the aluminum plates holding the condenser.)

The hits keep coming today, stopped  by the body shop on the way home that is slow painting my 72tii Ceylon and they actually had part of it in the paint booth… it looks like they are ready to shoot the body in the next day or so.

Spring break!

Nearly finished the firewall pad.

Mocked up my front brake line routing via wire forms.

Made the brake lines and aligned them up.  Just need some line separators and these will be done.

Installed the front and rear windshields with help from the Mrs. and my boys.  Seals were OEM through W&N.

Installed the lock strip, what a PITA.  I really enjoyed the silicone lube over WD-40

Cruised around in various BMWs this weekend. I almost forgot that I owned the BMW skateboard, have had it for at least a dozen years. They were sold at BMW dealerships circa 2000, and use off-the-shelf E39 5-series rear sway bar drop links. I actually replaced them a while back due to looseness/play, now they are too stiff! But it is a cool toy. So is the 2002tii :)
