What did you do to your 2002 today !

Recommended Posts

Got sidetracked off the project engine again, I was gathering up bits to take for bead blasting and realized how much stuff I have that will need bead blasting. 2 engines worth and then some.

So I bought a Harbor Freight bench top bead blast cabinet and a nice cart to mount it on.

I dont have bench space to set it on and this way I can roll it into a corner when not in use. Of course Harbor Freight had the cabinet but no glass beads so waiting on those from Amazon.

I did manage to get the head assembled with new camshaft, rockers, eccentrics and rocker shafts as well.

That’s a blast!

Some personal notes when i got mine:

make somekind of filter for outbound air as places will get dust.

Spare glasses and/or transpatent films to cover glass as it gets foggy pretty fast.

If it doesn’t have a light in it one should put one in there. Mine did have it so that was good thing.

Mine has legs so it’s easy to change medium from the bottom cone of the cabinet.

Getting ready to install a Behr A/C console so my nice Koogleworks console and gauges had to go.  I already had a Speedhut GPS speedo so seemed a natural to add more!  A small green and blue LED were mounted above the trio.  Massive amount of fabrication to do this so I sourced a spare cluster and the original with gauges is safely tucked away.  I'm pleased...  day and night:

Started in on the color correction on the Inka. There was a lot of contamination but it has come back nicely. Lotta work... lots more to go.

This last picture shows the roof had some milky discoloration compared to the freshly polished deck lid next to it. That roof and hood took a lot of effort to come back. I’m thankful it was a good single stage paint.
