More than that you need to loose the antivibration mounts.

I swapped out my anti-vibe soft mounts like 20 years ago. I didn’t like the razors-edge nature of the Thackeray washers/springs. And the o-rings tendency to harden/shrink over time.

I didn’t want a hard-mount though - due to concerns with the vibes from my Schrick 304. So I researched and found a hard rubber ’spacer/insulator/isolator’ that was used on the Mercedes 190SL.

I haven’t had any mount issues since..

So can you tell us about that heel pad under the peddles on your carpet. ??

I can't tell you a lot.  Plastic, black, vertical ribs, sewn on to the carpet?  I don't think the OEM carpet heel pad was notched for the gas pedal like this one.  This was pretty old stock when I bought it in 2016.

I can see why they add that plastic pad on the tunnel.  The early World Upholstery kits (left) had the notch for the gas pedal, the later ones, (and other kits), seem to use the rectangular heel pad.

FWIW: here is my '76 stock carpet (never replaced).

It has the tunnel pad and extra padding behind the clutch/brake.

Send me a DM if you want measurements.

The last carpet I saw that clean, the driver took his shoes off while driving.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Yep ... you can see the faded parts on the tunnel where the regular mats don't cover.

Remember cocoa mats?  Been through that stage long ago.  😁

I had found a NOS 2002ti cooling tube on Kleinanzeigen.

Since we bought dual solexes for the 2002 Touring, we were still in need of one, so I decided to buy it as they are hard to come by certainly NOS ones..

My brother also covered the new diff crossmember panel we made with some Corroless paint.

He also cleaned the underside/inside where the new panel will fit, especially the corners where it meets the rear wheel housings, there was some rust still present but it's completely gone now by coating it we Rustyco to remove it.

I still need to fill the gap between the wheel housing and floor with some weld as original

Next up, I had some rear subframe bushings CNC turned. I've been asked by a couple of people if I had these available. After I replaced both on our Touring. So yeah, I do now! :)

They are pretty much exact as the original in dimensions, and fit nicely in the panels W&N sells.

Some slight modification is needed on the bend up piece (bending it more towards 90deg)

The bushing gets welded into these panels FYI.

Got 100TW rubber mounted up for SCCA Solo Nationals.

I'm running in a "Hoosier class," F Street Prepared. Registering for Nationals was a last-minute thing, and I've been hustling to get a wheel/tire setup together. Couldn't find any Hoosiers that would fit a non-flared 02, so I went Toyo's R888R. *shrug*

Basically, I'm going into this to have fun, and being at a competitive disadvantage due to tires isn't that big of a deal for me. And, hey! If I beat ANYBODY it'll be a major victory. 🙂

Had to do a bit of rolling on the rear inner lips to accommodate the new stuff. Now I need to get my FSP class letters, and maybe a lightweight battery.
