Left Hawaii in '06, and still one of the best decisions I've made.  Actual seasons make things so much more fun.  It was 6 below zero this morning when I went outside for firewood and then got the wood stove going to warm house up for the wife and toddler,  then headed off to work.

I got an Amazon Echo Alexa for Christmas. You can ask her what is the temperature out . I asked her this morning. She said:

 

"It's EFFEN cold out today. Cold as shit. Stay inside."

Did I mention we had a mild Santa Ana breeze last night ??  At 10pm last night my backyard thermometer was 66F(19C).  

      Heck, it's so hot here I can't even do another cold start test.

 

Best decision I ever made was the lazy one:  not move from SoCal.

Just stirring you Carl. 

There's not many months I need a real cold start here :-)

And having lived in both, let me tell you a humid 41 deg C is just as unpleasant as very sub zero, at least you can warm up when its cold, getting cool is a different story even in air con!

 

update now 43 on Sunday, bloody glad im near the beach.....thats bloody hot!!!

I'm quite familiar with high temps and very high humidity, as a young sailor I spent lots and lots and lots of time in Subic Bay.

 

And another cold start data point this very cold morning:  and the '74tii fired up on the 3rd spin of the starter.

     Fortunately no 2002 abuse here:  no snow, and certainly not abandoned to the vagaries of horrible & horrendous weather.

Crazy weather this week!  Teens and twenties here and my contractors said it was 47 F in Rapid City SD on Thursday when they arrived (from East TX). The high pressure system created weird patterns.
