Recaro Seat Adapters?

Hi,

It may come down to availability.  You can simply order one from Dave and it would be at your door, ready to bolt in.  The flat plate style isn't available as such; I machined my own.  That can be an impediment for some.  Besides, you'd first have to design it, involving careful measurements of hole spacing, etc. (unless you can get someone to send you their design :-)).

The other factor may be height.  As I found out, the plates were too low for me.  I believe Dave's mimic the factory adapters, which allow you to sit a bit higher.

I contacted Lee @massive on 27 December. He said that he does not have any in stock and "will only produce them if I get an order for 20 sets (20 cars-40 seats)." So you will have to machine your own if you want plate style.

I ordered the set from the eBay seller mentioned above. Total with shipping was $135. Arrived in only 8 days. They fit well, little tight on the clearances but if you start each bolt first it all works out. Note the eBay set does not include bolts. The ones from Ardvark do come with bolts and nuts. Bolt size is M6x1.0 (max) on the brackets. I reused the original bolts to the seats.

Just put mine in on Saturday. Love the seats. Love the position. I am 5' 10" and the height is perfect for me.

P.S. I like your seat choice.

If I were to do the plate style again, I'd consider modifying the design to center the seat to the steering wheel a bit.  20 mm would bring the inboard seat mount directly over the rail and would allow for a clean looking installation.  Every now and then, the offset seating position bugs me.

Minor detail but the factory adapters have nuts welded in; the ones in the pictures above don't.  Not a big deal at all, just pointing out a difference.

Here are the pics...Will send some more once I get them installed on the seats. Car is getting some engine work done so I won't be able to get finished product pics for a few weeks at best. Hope this helps somebody. Best of luck with whatever you go with. My the force be with you.

If you need as low a profile as possible, I can send you my CAD model for the ones I had machined up.  This is how they looked, installed onto the stock rails.

I’d love if you could send me your cad file if that’s possible. Thx!

You'd want to move it medially, towards the center of the car.  If you center the seat between the brackets it offsets you towards the door, no longer centered on the steering wheel...  Not noticeable to most people, massively annoying to some...

I was digging through some old modification documentation photos for another user and came across my seat-rail adapters I made, so I thought I'd share.

Cheers,
