FPS 13" x 5.5" Italian Alloys

Hello FAQers,

I am looking for a set of Italian FPS wheels for my Italian 2002tii. They are reported as a factory alloy option or dealer equipped wheel from the early 70s. The link from the wheels section has a nice description and some photos seen here:

I am looking for a full set, but will purchase singles, or a pair, if anyone has a straggler laying around. They will be going on my 1971 2002tii originally delivered to Italy (vin 2700497). These are exactly what my tii needs! Any pointers or intel would be greatly appreciated!

Just as an FYI, Ryan,

I bought my set out of Italy — who knows how long they were together as a set — and two of them have a BMW roundel cast into their faces, and two of them do not have a BMW roundel. Otherwise, their markings are identical.

I have speculated that perhaps FPS sold the rims both through BMW and in the aftermarket arena. But I don’t have a lick of evidence for that. Maybe earlier rims did not have the roundel while later ones did — or vice versa! How does the roundel, or absence of a roundel, make me feel? I love them all equally....?

Can’t find a photo of a roundel version. Here’s the front and rear of a “non-roundel” version.

Good luck and best regards,

Steve

I saw those for sale, Ryan. Much rarer than the Italian option alloys!

Congrats,

Steve

:) Thanks! Couldn’t pass seeing as they were fully refurbished with caps! Now I’m thinking I need to keep the quad headlamps to match the Diana wheels. Hehe
