Help needed on dipstick tube length

Meh. Just fill it up to spec, then dip your stick till it’s at the full point. Mark it, measure it, trim it. Done


I finally got around to putting a pass-thru into my honking big air filter so I no longer have to remove the filter to check my oil. The dipstick is outa a modern Citroen, but I need to cut it to length, measure the oil level exactly as I mentioned above, and then create a metal clamp/stop/O-ring seal to ‘calibrate’



Before in order to fit the filter I had to cut down the metal tube and add on a flexible silicone hose and bend the dipstick at a 90 degree angle.
