helicoil spark plug help needed

Just removed a plug with a lot of effort. Threads are looking pretty stripped. Can I helicoil with the head in place?

I got a little pipe to attach to the vacuum to suck particles out from inside the combustion chamber, cleaned the heck out of it. Started it up it ran fine. First time I revved it up a little it had a wasted rod bearing.So much easier to pull the head than the whole engine. Look at the bright side, you can clean up all the carbon while you are in there and the old gasket was probably going to start leaking anyway. By the way the sharp end of the helicoil may stick into the chamber like a glow plug and cause detonation. Mine did that too. Good luck with it.
