If the flanges are not easily sourced for your diff and stub axles, they can be properly marked and drilled. Just find the CV to use and install as many bolts that line up. Drill the holes needed. (4) per flange.

This... is exactly what I was thinking I'd do. Easy peasy.

On my ‘67 1600-2, on which I probably put 40,000 miles (1975-76), I never had a half-shaft boot last more than 8,000 miles. I didn’t use any synthetics. The boots were simply not up to the job.

Wow....I've got I'd say over 25K miles on the boots in my car. Everything still looks ok!

I’m hoping there were enough complaints over the years to force improvement of the boots. All of mine broke along the same molding seam in the boot, but every single boot sitting on the dealers’ shelves, during those years, appeared to have the same molding seam!  The boots and cold-weather starts (6 volts just didn’t do it when temps dipped below 20 degrees) were the reason I sold my mint 1600-2.

Steve

The new ones dont last as long.

Certainly not worse than my 8,000-mile maximum of 1975-76!  ?
